ELGIA participates Devolution Conference 2025 - Homabay County

As part of the side events at the Devolution Conference, the Electoral Law and Governance Institute for Africa (ELGIA), in collaboration with its Kenya Institutional Strengthening Programme (KISP) partner, the Center for Multi-party Democracy (CMD), launched a youth-focused campaign to raise awareness and accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Kenya.

This initiative aims to empower young people to identify local challenges and opportunities, translate global SDG aspirations into community-driven actions, and advocate for inclusive, youth-led policy engagement. It also seeks to strengthen county-level ownership, political commitment, and collaboration with local governments in planning, implementing, and monitoring SDG progress, with the overarching goal of achieving all SDGs by 2030.

ELGIA, CMD and other partners including Transparency International (TI), and Uraia Trust are implementing the KISP program Supported by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
