IEBC with technical support from ELGIA convening a three-day induction workshop
From 30th September to 2nd October, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), with technical support from the Electoral Law and Governance Institute for Africa (ELGIA), is convening a three-day induction workshop at Sawela Resort, Naivasha.
The workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of appointed and serving Commissioners in managing electoral disputes through a deeper understanding of Kenya’s legal, procedural, and institutional frameworks.

Key focus areas include:
- Legislative and procedural frameworks governing Electoral Dispute Resolution (EDR)
- Rules of procedure for dispute settlement
- Implications of judicial decisions on IEBC’s EDR Committees
This initiative forms part of IEBC’s broader institutional strengthening efforts ahead of future elections, promoting transparent, credible, and legally sound dispute resolution processes.
ELGIA’s facilitation; under the FCDO-funded Kenya Inclusive and Accountable Politics (KISP) program; ensures the sessions are participatory, contextually grounded, and aligned with best practices in electoral governance.
